Morning and afternoon shifts that rotate on their own

At a physiotherapy clinic it's common for the team to share out the hours: one week a physiotherapist works mornings and the next afternoons, so nobody is always stuck with the late shift. Redoing the rota every Monday is a job nobody wants, and the day it's forgotten, the patient gets a session with someone who isn't there.

With rotating shifts, the rotation is set up just once. You create the shifts with their hours, say every how many weeks the cycle repeats and which shift each physiotherapist does each week. From then on ClaudIA only offers each one the hours of their shift that week, also when booking a series of sessions, and the calendar shades out what isn't theirs.

One-off changes are noted with their date: two physiotherapists swapping shifts, someone working a full day on a particular date. Holidays and absences still take priority, and whoever isn't in the rotation keeps their usual hours.

How it works

  1. In Team, on the Shifts tab, you create the shifts with their hours: morning and afternoon, for example.
  2. You say every how many weeks the cycle repeats and who's on mornings this week.
  3. You mark who rotates and which shift they do each week; everyone else keeps their hours.
  4. Before saving you see the next eight weeks: it's exactly what ClaudIA will offer.
The ten-session series
A patient starts a ten-session rehabilitation with their usual physiotherapist, who alternates morning and afternoon weeks. ClaudIA books the whole series respecting each week's shift: the sessions fall in the morning on morning weeks and in the afternoon on afternoon weeks, without anyone having to check by hand.
