Verifactu at the clinic: the till, ready for your accountant

What saves the clinic work every week is having the payment live where the session already is —who paid, how much, how and which physiotherapist saw them— and the accountant getting the month in order without anything being copied by hand.

In Spain each payment comes out as a payment receipt, with its numbering, and the accountant gets the summary by day, by payment method and by VAT rate, with physiotherapy as exempt. What an insurer pays is recorded separately: the receipt covers only what the patient pays.

On the law: the Spanish tax agency announced on 5 October 2026 that Verifactu is postponed to October 2028, to coincide with electronic invoicing between businesses; in Álava, Gipuzkoa and Bizkaia TicketBAI applies. The simplified invoice compliant with the regulation is in preparation, without the clinic having to send anything to the tax agency.

How it works

  1. The session is charged from the calendar or from the till, as always.
  2. Each payment comes out as a payment receipt, printed, by WhatsApp or by email.
  3. Each treatment carries its VAT rate, and the physiotherapy exemption comes already set.
  4. At the end of the month, the accountant has the summary by day, by payment method and by VAT rate.
Month end, without spreadsheets
The accountant asks for the month's figures. From the till comes the summary of what was taken by day, by payment method and by VAT rate —exempt sessions separate from products—, and what the insurers owe is in its own account. Nothing to cross-check by hand.
