It's one of the first things clinics ask us when they've seen the product in another sector: «and does this let patients know when they're due back?». In physiotherapy the answer has a nuance, and the nuance is a design decision: it writes to whoever is in an ongoing treatment, and leaves the physiotherapist to decide whether someone who's already been discharged should come back.
Why it makes sense in dentistry
A periodic check-up is a recognised preventive routine and the patient expects it: they left knowing they were due back. Reminding them is a service, not a sale.
Why physiotherapy is different
A physiotherapy discharge doesn't come with a return date. Writing to someone six months later to ask whether they'd like another session isn't reminding them of anything: it's suggesting they need it, without having seen them and without anyone having assessed it.
That's decided by a professional with the patient in front of them, and it's exactly the kind of message that turns an administrative tool into something else.
Who it does write to, and when
With patients who are IN an ongoing treatment, ClaudIA does act, because there the plan already exists and their team set it: it gives notice when one or two sessions are left on the pack, proposes the next ones in a series that's already open and brings back the patient who stopped coming halfway without saying anything.
The difference is who decided they needed to come back. If the physiotherapist decided, the assistant helps make it happen. If nobody decided, the assistant stays quiet.
And if you want to do it anyway
You can: the dashboard's campaigns let you write to a group of patients with wording you draft, reviewed by you before it goes out. The system handles the sending; the decision, and the words, are yours.
Questions clinics ask
So do I lose patients who forgot to come back? Someone who left a treatment halfway is detected and brought back, because there's an open plan. Patients who were discharged are written to by you, if you want, with a campaign.
Can I write to discharged patients myself? Yes: with a campaign from the dashboard, with your own wording and reviewed by you before it goes out.
Does this also apply to osteopathy? Yes. Manual therapy doesn't change the reasoning: the professional decides on the return, not the calendar.
